Professional Microneedling in Camberley

Dermapen microneedling is an entirely natural process unlike injectable treatments. It works by stimulating the body’s own repair and renewal process to create collagen. Micro-fine needles are adjusted to different depths and speeds to create fractional puncture channels on the surface of the skin. These micro-channels carry customised serums deep into the skin, increasing its effectiveness and delivering healing nutrients.

How Does Skin Needling Work?

Illustration of Dermapen creating puncture channels in the skin

The micro-injuries caused by the treatment stimulate the production of collagen as your skin heals. Acne, trauma, pigmentation and a range of other ailments can cause blemishes on your skin. Ageing causes your skin to thin, sag and wrinkle.

Dermapen microneedling simply activates the skin’s natural self-rejuvenating function. A new layer of fresh tissue forms, creating a more youthful appearance on the surface and fighting antibodies underneath.

These small punctures also allow active ingredients in topical creams to penetrate deeper for intense rejuvenation.

Is Skin Needling and Dermapen Microneedling the Same?

Yes, Dermapen microneedling has many different names, which can make it confusing when selecting a treatment. Other terms for microneedling include:

  • Percutaneous Collagen Induction (P.C.I.)
  • Collagen Induction Therapy (C.I.T.)
  • Scar Rejuvenation Therapy (S.R.T.)
  • Skin Needling

What Can I Expect After a Micro Needling Procedure?

Facial redness may be experienced for 12 – 48 hours after a microneedling procedure. Most people can return to normal daily activities immediately after the treatment. Your therapist will advise on aftercare procedures to calm and cover any redness for an immediate return to your daily activities.

Why Dermapen is The Best Micro Needling Pen on the Market

Treating the cheeks with the Dermapen 4

Dermapen has been setting the industry standard in excellence since its invention almost a decade ago. It is the first automated microneedling pen. However, there are now a lot of “copy” pens out there that try to emulate Dermapen’s success.

You can feel confident knowing that many years of research have gone into developing and manufacturing the Dermapen 1, 2, 3 and now the 4th generation of device. The Dermapen 4 offers far superior results, with less pain and downtime than any other product on the market.

Just a few reasons why Dermapen 4 is trusted and loved worldwide:

  • Impressive results
  • Increased comfort
  • Minimal downtime
  • Reduced epidermal damage

The Dermapen 4 has raised the bar to a whole new level as a result of its 16-needle cartridge. It can now deliver 1,920 puncture channels per second. It offers faster treatment times and covers larger procedural areas.

Microneedling Reviews

These reviews are of the Dermapen device and are featured on the official Dermapen website.

Sami – acne
For a long time I struggled with severe cystic acne all over my face which was always inflamed and nothing seemed to fix it. My first Dermapen Treatment was quick and pain-free, and straight away I could see results. After my second treatment the majority of my acne had disappeared, and then after my third treatment my full face was acne free, barely any scarring, no active pimples or anything like that and it looked amazing.

Linda – acne, scarring
I have had acne scarring from teenage years and scarring from an accident and I find this has really helped them become less obvious. The serum is amazing to use during and after treatments… I especially love the masks immediately after treatment which helps soothe and calm my skin.

Sarah – anti-ageing, fine lines
I’ve only done one Dermapen Treatment so far but I can’t believe how much my skin plumped up! I kept applying and re-applying the serum after too, and I think it literally filled my skin up, with so much hyaluronic acid getting deep into my skin. I had some fine lines on my forehead that disappeared straight away.

Dr B. Kunwar – dark circles under eyes
After trying so many creams and treatments for my dark circles under my eyes, I had 3 treatments using the Dermapen with DP Dermaceuticals Hyla Active and Brite Lite, I am so impressed with the results, and highly recommend it. Thank you Dermapen.

Susan – pigmentation, sun damage, dark circles under eyes
I’ve seen amazing results…. the pigmentation from sun damage earlier in my life on the sides of my face has drastically reduced. Also the dark circles under my eyes are also significantly narrowed in which makes sense. I’ve been recommending Dermapen Treatments to all my friends and family.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is microneedling?

Microneedling is a sought-after skin renewal procedure because it visibly improves a wide range of concerns. Micro-fine needles are adjusted to different depths and speeds to create fractional puncture channels on the surface of the skin. Unlike injectable treatments, microneedling is an entirely natural process that stimulates the body’s own repair and renewal function to create collagen and elastin.

The micro-channels carry a serum that’s chosen to help correct your specific skin concern deep into the skin, increasing its effectiveness and delivering nourishing nutrients.

How does Dermapen microneedling work?

The principle behind skin needling (microneedling) has been around for thousands of years. The microfine needles create a virtually painless “controlled injury”. When the body goes to fix that injury, it creates new collagen and elastin within the skin. It’s an effective and natural rejuvenation that offers results within a couple of treatments. It’s safe for all skin types and colours.

What makes Dermapen 4 so unique?

The Dermapen 4, which is available at House of Beauty, is a medically engineered device that delivers world-leading microneedling procedures.

Only Dermapen uses a specialised spring-loaded cartridge that is automated by an oscillating system, delivering fast, fractional, and virtually painless procedures that are non-ablative. Dermapen’s patented technology delivers vertical channels into the skin minimising damage, downtime, and discomfort. Customising speed and depth for each procedure leads to targeted results.

Dermapen offers the latest, most innovative, and most awarded Microneedling system in the world.

How does Dermapen microneedling compare to other methods of skin rejuvenation?

Dermapen procedures are non-thermal and non-ablative. Procedures may be performed on all skin tones reducing any risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or fibrotic scar tissue formation.

How long does a Dermapen microneedling procedure take?

The Dermapen 4 is the fastest device on the market, with its 16-needle cartridge, delivering 1,920 puncture channels per second. A full-face can be treated in as little as 10 minutes. The actual application of the device and the feeling of discomfort may take several minutes however, expect the procedure to take between 30 – 60 minutes depending on the protocol used and the skin condition treated.

Do Dermapen treatments hurt?

Traditional dermal-rolling techniques proved to be bloody and painful, requiring the application of topical anaesthetic cream before treatments.

Today, with Dermapen 4, there’s no comparison. It’s the most comfortable, virtually pain-free microneedling treatment available. Numbing the area beforehand is optional, it is not even required because it’s so comfortable. Just lay back and enjoy stunning results.

The Dermapen microneedling protocols and aftercare are designed to soothe and camouflage any visible redness or sensation of heat. It is called a “lunchtime procedure” as you are able to carry on with your daily routine immediately afterwards.

Can Dermapen Treatments tear or scratch the skin?

No. Dermapen’s unique vertical needles provide fractional rejuvenation that does not compromise the integrity of the skin. The Advanced Oscillation Vertical Needle Technology moves so quickly that the Dermapen effortlessly glides across the skin.

Are Dermapen Treatments safe?

Yes. Only a qualified practitioner may perform Dermapen procedures under strict sterile conditions. All treatment consumables are single-use and sterile.

What is the downtime?

Localised erythema may last up to 2 days post-procedure. Your therapist will advise products that may be used immediately following a procedure to reduce any visible redness. Most patients can resume normal activities immediately after a procedure.

What are the risks of microneedling?

Microneedling is generally considered to be safe and effective, but like any procedure, it has risks. Common side effects of the procedure include:

  • Skin irritation
  • Swelling
  • Discomfort at the site
  • Redness and bruising, common for the first 48 hours
  • Dryness or flaking of the skin

However, most of these should disappear after a few days. After your treatment, you should avoid swimming and using irritating soap for a while. Make up is not advised for the first 5 days.

How long until I see the microneedling results?

Though the duration to see results will vary slightly from person to person; on average you can expect to enjoy the benefits after just one microneedling procedure, within a couple of weeks. The exact duration of the results of microneedling depends on how your skin responds, your skin type, and other factors such as the severity of your skin issue. To achieve the full desired result, cumulative procedures and at-home protocols may be required.

Remember microneedling is not a quick fix. The benefits of the new collagen production often take some time to show fully because your body is actually repairing itself and growing new skin tissue. Collagen is typically formed between 30 and 200 days. A single session can see an increase of 45% of collagen.

Can I use Dermapen microneedling treatments in combination with PRP?

Yes. You can combine a Dermapen microneedling treatment with PRP, which will soon be available at House of Beauty. Normally the PRP is applied to the skin directly after the Dermapen microneedling procedure for better infusion. The Blood Platelets from the PRP extraction could also be applied to the skin (or mixed with a serum and then applied) and then needled into the skin.

Are Dermapen microneedling treatments safe during pregnancy?

If you are pregnant or lactating, we recommend seeking medical permission first.
